When your life is all upside down and all around does not seem to make any sense !!
Open your heart to Jesus and He will open your eyes to His beautiful creation and that of His true character thus confirming the truth of the bible as we read in;
Colossians 1:16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on the earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And in Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.
God can take even the hardest heart and soften it but only with our yielding as He cannot violate His character by tempting us to sin as He informs us in;
James 1:13 Let no one say when he is tempted, ”I am tempted by God”, for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.verse 14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. I have heard many testimonies of people who were at their wits end, some who contemplated ending their life as they could see no way out of their situation while others were planning to take someone’s life but for God’s intervention !!.
The Holy scriptures once again proving that many events that we are witnessing around the world, God has foreseen and has spoken through his prophets what would come to pass in the latter times having been prophesied many centuries before as we read in John 16:1 These things I have spoken to you that you should not be made to stumble verse 2 They will put you out of the synagogues; yes the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God a service verse 3 And these things they will do to you because they have not known Him verse 4 But these things I have told you, that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you of them.
The bible contains many scientific truths and character truths that will challenge ”your world view of truth” only those with an open and honest heart can truly appreciate and discover for themselves their own character in the light of Gods truth. Psalm 36:9 In your light we see light.
TRUTH
What is truth ?
Pontius Pilate asked this question and the world asks this question every second of the day, and we need to ask this question too.
Truth has a standard by which all are measured by. Just as someone wants to know their height or weight we have an internationally recognised standard, i.e. a ruler and a weight measure it is a point of reference which all are measured against.
There is an apparent truth i.e. the Guinness book of records, then there is absolute truth as found in the bible. Can we take seriously a renown publication who’s primary product is alcohol, when it’s statistics cover everything from the serious to the outright trivial? Does it include the days of lost production due to alcohol abuse, broken marriages, battered wives and husbands, overdoes’, car accidents and crime related incidents? When we look a little deeper and hold it up to the light is this really truth?. How does the worlds idea of truth stack up to the ultimate truth? The bible is not silent when it comes to the subject of alcohol as we see in Proverbs 20:1 Wine is a mocker, strong drink is a brawler, and whoever is led astray by it is not wise. Many have in this world have indeed gone astray under the influence of alcohol and so we should not be impressed by such outlandish claims by all who profess to be wise.
Many in this world want to be recognised for some accomplishment and to be accepted with many beauty pageants, talent contests, sporting competitions such as the Olympic games, and even your grades in School and university can be a source of pride instead of a means to an end.
People never lose their value irrespective of their personal accomplishments or lack of them. This world places such high expectations on people to perform or achieve in some way that they might impress those around them, e.g. if you can run the fastest or jump the highest or do more somersaults than anyone else where does that leave your sense of worth when you can no longer do such things, what determines your value then? Where is your sense of identity when ageing or ill health has taken it’s toll or some other life issue has become a challenge when the ability to perform has diminished or been lost in some way. I have heard of stories where comedians have experienced a life crises believing that people no longer find them funny and this has seriously undermined their sense of identity and left them with a sense of worthlessness that they have contemplated ending their lives. How tragic that our worth is so effected by some one else’s opinion and what this world deems to be valuable it is incredulous that people would put their very lives at risk performing a daring feat just to impress some judges on a talent show and all for what so that they can become famous one day.
There is a saying that the pen is mightier than the sword when a decision involving an entire Country goes to war and many lives are effected however there is something even mightier than the pen or the sword and that is the power of the spoken word. If you stepped into a boxing ring with a heavy weight boxer you would come away bruised and battered but this is what happens every second of the day all around the world by people who are not yielded to God’s ways and all by the power of the spoken word.
People should have a label attached ‘FRAGILE HANDLE WITH CARE’
We need to view ourselves from God’s perspective and what He declares about us as we read in Psalms 139:13-18
Verse 13 For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb.verse 14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made verse 15 My frame was not hidden from you, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.verse 16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. and in your book they all were written.verse 17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!18 If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You.
Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we should walk in them.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God verse 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus it is God that justifies us based upon our response to Him as he says in John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
Pontius Pilate the Roman governor of Judea acknowledged that Jesus was no ordinary man. Pilate therefore said to Him, Are You a King then? Jesus answered , You say that I am a King. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into this world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice. Pilate said to Him, ”What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, I find no fault in Him at all.
